Masterworks VI: Pines of Rome

The Masterworks season will conclude in spectacular style with four Italian masters: Rossini, Busoni, Puccini, and Respighi! The program starts with Rossini’s iconic Barber of Seville Overture and Busoni’s rarely performed Violin Concerto No. 1, featuring the incomparable Frank Almond as soloist. Then we return to the passionate music of Puccini with his Capriccio Sinfonico before concluding with Respighi’s Pines of Rome. What better way to end a season?
